Another World was unreal… We had one of the best Khao Soi we’ve ever tasted, along with Massaman curry and the Northern Thai sausage, which were also amazing — everything was so rich and flavourful! We were super lucky to get in without waiting, as there isn’t too much seating. People chillin and playing cards/board games adds to this wait. The vibes are super chill though, very different from other restaurants in the area. Easily a 10/10. Would 100% come back and recommend!

Another World in Chiang Mai is an amazing restaurant that truly stands out for its atmosphere and food quality. The setting is eclectic, inviting, and calm — the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. The live musician added a beautiful touch to the evening, enhancing the overall vibe without being overwhelming. The vegetarian dishes were outstanding — flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The food was so delicious that it completely justified the slightly higher price. Everything felt clean, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. It’s definitely a must-try spot in Chiang Mai, and I would absolutely come back. Highly recommend — 10 out of 10 stars!
The food at this place is truly outstanding, with very generous portions that leave you more than satisfied. The service is amazing—staff are kind, well-educated in English, and even offer complimentary water, which adds a nice touch. The vibe is so comfortable, with live music, hippie-style decoration, and even a chill spot to smoke. We ate here once for takeaway and once dining in, and both times were absolutely outstanding. I feel really sad to leave Hanoi because I would love to try even more dishes at this wonderful, warm-hearted restaurant. Definitely and highly recommended!
What a lovely little gem! Gentle acoustic music, great Khao Soi, relaxed vibe. Usually have to wait for a table but the bar area is a pleasant place, and service excellent.
Pork Panang Curry - asked for spicy. Best Panang curry I have ever had. Perfect spice level to make a little sweat but amazing flavor and perfectly cooked veggies. Mango smoothie was good. Wife got pineapple curry which was good but compared to Panang, not the same level. Vibes 100%. Live music. Sat on a couch. Took a poop. Walked around after. Our hotel is pretty nice too.
Wow. Forming what must be the anchor of a tiny island of entertainment and cuisine hidden in the southeast quadrant of Old Town, Another World appropriately describes this restaurant's vibe. It is an absolutely unique experience in a city full of every kind of fare. Step in off the little alley and you're instantly transported to a Woodstock era moment with matching live music and a delicious menu. But you may have to wait a while for a table. Started four years ago as we slowly recovered from the Pandemic, it finally took off last year and sometimes has lines of as many as sixty people waiting to eat.
My girlfriend and I ended up coming here 5 out of 7 days during our stay in Chiang Mai that’s how good it was! Every single meal we had was incredible. The Panang Curry was honestly the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere, and everything else on the menu was just as delicious. The atmosphere is something really special – relaxed, warm, and full of good energy. There’s often live music in the evenings, which gives the whole place such a cozy and happy vibe. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy great food, and feel at home. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming, and the chef is just wonderful – both of them made us feel like friends rather than just guests. You can really tell they put their heart into what they do. We’re a couple from Germany, and we can genuinely say this was one of our favorite places we’ve been to in Thailand. We highly, highly recommend Another World to anyone looking for amazing food, lovely people, and a truly memorable experience!
Even though we couldn't sit at a table we got a seat at a couch and it was perfect!! The vibe including the live music (very local version of famous rock songs) and decor was just so welcoming and chill. The food was also next level. Definitely coming back.
